I made a few mixed CDs last winter but I forgot to mention them. I still have some of the playlists saved somewhere but I thought I would share this one. One way to sum it up would be "Inevitable" by Shakira, so I uploaded that. Since I did not want two images here, I included the album cover of the mixed CD (did not do anything at all this time, other than adding text). I realize I could have been more creative but when I get personal, I really lack talent but rather cover it with cheesiness. Also, I do realize how the tracklisting did not include Shakira's Inevitable but that is to avoid coming off redundant.
The theme of this mixed CD was love, finding it, feeling it, and then losing it. I tried to include a lot of songs as my way of making an "epic" CD, since to many people love is quite big. Obviously this would not represent the ideal mixed CD for many but that is where the personal touch comes in. I tried to include songs that would portray my feelings as when I started to fall in love to the part where I would be angry that I did, since that is the time you either cannot have them, they find someone else, or you guys just drift apart/hate each other. The next mixed CD will be featured sometime near the end of this summer.

As for one of the worst movies of all-time, The Mist probably takes the cake (for now). Not only was the story and character cheesy, the overall execution was not that much better. I guess I either expected more graphics or just a believable story and yet it just ended up funny. Okay, I should admit that I was still curled up but that is because every movie like that, no matter how bad it is, makes me a bit scared, but you know it's bad if you're laughing when you should be curling up even more or covering your eyes. The bruises and such were not pretty but the monster itself was just a big slimy thing. The characters were a bit exaggerated, where one would refuse to believe and the other would be the strong guy out there to guide everyone. I especially hated the ending of the movie. I mean, there was no real conflict resolution... but just a weird way of ending the movie. I guess you could say the characters in Walk Hard were predictable or exaggerated but it was not meant to be taken seriously. I just thought the mist could have been a lot better. I mean I don't watch these kinds of movies and I found the few that I did a lot scarier than this, so yeah, horrible(ly amusing).
Now, another movie that I really enjoyed: Enchanted. I know how much people have wanted to see it and how almost every song was nominated but it really is worth checking out. I would not say it is worth all of the hype it has received but it was such a cute movie! As a firm believer of true love's kiss, or rather just the idea of "the one," I thought this movie did a nice job at mixing reality with fairy tales. It had the cheesy songs and the super cute animals but it also had the idea of dating integrated as well as having an ending for the other girl. I just don't think it deserved four nominations for the songs. I mean, they were cute and composed nicely, but seriously they were not that amazing. I could just really relate to the movie and that is another reason why I really enjoyed it. I mean, like I said, I believe in one love and the idea of knowing right away... and this movie had the character sort of learn how to experience love through reality but at the same time, go with what she believed. It just felt nice. Plus, there were good-looking actors/actresses, including Amy Adams who reminded of Jenna Fischer!
I have been watching a lot of shows lately and it seems I have taken away all internal and external energy and used it to keep myself hooked to television. In a way, I am trying to go back to my roots by allowing myself time to read, do well in class (which I am still working on), and write about things that may be pointless to converse about (especially if no one else watches the shows I want to talk about) but at the same time, know that I can survive without interaction. While it is television that has helped me step away from my social desires, it shall be everything else that shall keep me away (for the most part). I am not against people but I just want to be less into interacting, especially since most of my conversations are awkward.
First off, I missed Reaper's return last night, so that really stinks. I might either wait for the rerun or catch up online. I doubt the latter though. However, I remembered to watch Make Me A Supermodel on Bravo and man, I hate that whenever I want someone to go, they do really well. My favorites in that show are probably Ben, Ronnie, and Shannon. However, those three are always the one that happen to be in the bottom three, or two in the latest episode. I think Perry is arrogant and nothing special. Holly really seems fake and while she can pull off cute, she just annoys me. However, since I do not want them to win, they probably will.
Actually, last season in America's Next Top Model, the one person I really did not want to win won the whole thing. Even when she was criticized, Saleisha won. This season, I don't have a favorite but I would love to see Lauren, Whitney, Fatima, and Clair do well. Clair actually makes me think of Julia Stiles, haha. I think the only show that had a winner I wanted was The Shot where Maria seemed the most talented and she just happened to win. Too bad I forgot to watch the finale and totally missed it. Maybe if I don't watch a series, my favorite will go far? :p
I am glad the rest of the shows are coming back from the writers strike though! The Office... can't wait to finally see how amazing Jim and Pam are together while having dinner with Michael. How I Met Your Mother, just cannot wait to eventually find out about who the mother is. With 30 Rock and My Name Is Earl, I am just waiting to see new episodes, since each seems to only complete Super Thursday's awesomeness. The only thing not awesome is realizing how this is the last season for Scrubs and it was already cut down real short. I used to love the series before it started to go downhill around season three, where I thought was the peak for Sarah Chalke's character. Actually, my favorite episode with her still remains to be episode 3.01, where she changed from a weak shadow to one who helped out her friends the most.
Speaking of shows that are ending, apparently About A Girl (a show the N had picked up) has been dropped after one season. That really stinks since it was just starting to grow on me and I liked the overall synopsis of a girl living with four guys. Maybe they might bring it back? I hope so. If nothing else, there is Unhitched, which seems to be out four friends who are single and one of them happens to be a girl, so it sort of has the same feel. The humor is a lot different though. Also when it comes to new shows, I cannot wait for the second season of Chuck! Oh man, Chuck is almost a guilty pleasure because what girl would not mind a guy like Chuck? Well, I know I wouldn't, but that is beside the point. The show seems to be fun, sort of have an alias-feel to it and have enough drama for it to not be totally random. Unhitched is sort of similar but it is not as fun. In fact, compared to Chuck, it seems mediocre at the moment but that might be only because I like how the corniness of Chuck, as well as how it is a guilty pleasure for me.
I know I watch too much TV seeing this is really not everything on my mind but it is enough for now. Maybe I will comment on other shows later? If not, maybe something on the news or politics? Just to throw it out there: I hate super-delegates and the electoral college :)
P.S. The image to the top-right represents an amazing moment during the writer's strike. This was a few weeks after all three late-night talk shows came back and I think they just could not handle having no writers that they made a really pointless argument that ran through all three shows for days. After Huckabee's success, Colbert said that he had made Huckabee with his Colbert Bump (tm) seeing Conan was saying that he made Huckabee because he made Chuck Norris who seemed to support Huckabee. When Colbert made fun of Conan, Conan tried to say that he made Colbert by having him on his late night show. A few episodes later, Jon Stewart made an appearance on Colbert Report with an old tape saying that it was The Jon Stewart Show that made Conan who made Colbert who made Huckabee. Therefore, Jon Stewart made Huckabee. To continue the fun, they all decides they would fight it off and on January 21st 2008, all three made appearances on each other's show and finally "fought" during Conan's show. Amazing.
What's the best late-night TV talk show?
Jay Leno has amazing Headlines but I think after Conan's fire alarm incident, he has to have the best late-night TV talk show.
Before this, I would not be sure what to pick because as corny as Conan is, I really really really enjoy the actual headlines from Jay Leno. I really hope Conan continues them when he takes over :(
Anyway, hello! A few days ago was my birthday and this weekend my parents are visiting for Parents Weekend, is that not exciting? Yes, yes it is. My roommate moved in last Monday. My situation with some friends is more complicated than ever but at least it seems to be going as well as it could? Grades are okay but I really need to step up and do better on my following exams/assignments! Other than that, I have gotten more used to this area and have come to even appreciate the region. There is even a free gym behind my Residential Hall for students!
If you have not yet tuned in to a tv station or the live webcast, I demand you do it now! :-p
London's webcast already started. New York's start in a few hours. Japan is showing it's webcast again. Catch it! I will be sure to edit this later with my opinions... as well as an actual update on my life.

The reason why I am posting this and I am posting this so late is that Chaz reminded me of how I made certain mix CDs. Granted, I have not made any in a while, but this is the latest one that I forgot to share. I made this around February (around my last Mix CD post, in fact) and tried to incorporate both spring and valentines day.
The reason why it was called Springing Heart was for just that... spring and hearts. Also, the word "springing" could work with "dancing," since the focus was sort of that too.The picture, however, was of a classmate with paper skirt, wings, and a flower on her head in front of the teacher. I photoshopped it to work with both winter ending (the white) and valentines day (the red).
The playlist:
01. Beck - We Dance Alone
02. Aaliyah - Are You That Somebody?
03. Ben Folds feat. William Shatner - Rockin' The Suburbs (Over The Hedge version)

05. Phoenix - Congratulations
06. Mary Griffin - We Can Get There
07. The Apples In Stereo - Energy
08. Sally Shapiro - I'll Be By Your Side
09. Primus - Groundhog's Day
10. Lily Allen - Naive
11. Peter Bjorn & John - Young Folks
12. Clarissa and the Straightjackets - Wishing for Rain

I might actually consider making another one sometime this summer, perhaps next month? I guess we will see.
Incubus w/ a capella group in the beginning > Social Distortion > Tim Armstrong > Linkin' Park > Peter Bjorn & John > Korn > Tiger Army > The Bravery > Rise Against > Silversun Pickups > Interpol > 30 Seconds To Mars > Plain White T's
I did not see two artists, Queens and Religion, so that is why they are not in the ranking. I do realize I missed out but I enjoyed what I did end up seeing ^_^
It was great to see Incubus as a surprise. In fact, they took the timeslot The Killers were originally set to perform, but due to Brandon Flowers being ill, apparently they called over Brandon from Incubus. Not a bad move, at all. I did not mean to miss Queens and Religion but it ended up working that way, so no worries there. Overall I definitely enjoyed the show. I am looking forward to the next webcast, KROQ Inland Invasion.
Tell us about a lesson you had to learn the hard way.
To never take friends for granted but also never cut them out completely, and not to make other friends do that.
You think I would have known that myself but apparently I had to learn that the hard way. I ruined a great friendship because I was always paranoid and pretty much took it for granted, not thinking that my actions would once kill such a strong friendship. Oh well, I definitely know how to act around friends and what to watch, basically. It is not that I fake stuff or want to restrict myself, it is just that sometimes I come off more emotional than I really am.
Anyway, just this month saw two great movies.
I just wanted to mention them because they were that great! Honestly, I love love love comedy films. Hot Fuzz was created by thosewho made Shaun of the Dead and if you loved that, you are bound to love this. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, once again, show that they can be a great team! Simon plays a cop who gets tranferred to a town and ends up with a clueless partner and he realizes the quiet town has a story behind it. The movie has less blood, but overall the same type of comedy. I just loved how it had action, comedy, and a little bit of pathos. Then again, every great movie has to have a great mixture of at least two things... one of them has to always be comedy for me. I guess I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the action in this movie, but it all worked out. If you like funky humor, or maybe it is actually referred to as "dark humor," this is the movie to see! With Blades Of Glory, there was just so much appropiate laughing. I guess it felt more appropiate because I was not laughing at how someone was killed or how one was about to shoot, haha. It was just inappropiate humor, I guess, but not in the way Hot Fuzz was. This one had two guys going as a pair to skate and yeah, some of the moves two straight guys just should not do. It was nice to see Jenna Fischer (one of my favorite actresses!) and the guy from Napoleon Dynamite again. He seriously looks so dorky, I like it. Will Ferrall and Jon Heder really did play appropiate roles, since they fit each perfectly. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett were a bit awkward, but mostly because they played siblings who had forbidden love... when they are married in real life, haha. It worked out well though! There was even a role with Andy Richter too! Not to mention, crazy ending. So worth the money.
What are the positive and negative associations that you and those around you have with blogging? Have attitudes changed over time?
I do not really have an association. It is just something I do and have been doing ever since I found a site to do it with. I used to have my own site. I once owned an Open Diary, a Teen Open Diary, Xanga, Wordpress, Blogger, Something that let you update from aim (one of the few of that time), Livejournal, Deadjournal, and now this. I am just a known blogger, yet my interest in blogging has decreased over time.
I used to write everyday about everything and now, it just seems pointless. The questions that come to my mind, it seems like it is something I have to deal with... and by the time I have time to note something extraordinary/surprising, the phase is over. Who knows what is going on or went on... I guess life just goes on and you just have to let go. I guess that is one thing I learned, that it was better when I didn't write about my problems only to read them later, but instead just slept on it or did something to distract me. Still, it is hard to completely stop blogging.
I just saw Last Kiss starring Zach Braff. Wow... I was expecting a romantic comedy but instead, it left me wondering and not feeling too golly. I sometimes hate when movies do that. Thinking is nice and all but when I feel confused about relationships, even more than I already am, it is frustrating. It is almost like I want that fairy tale story, except even that can be messed up... for example, a guy can be marrying a girl but then he realizes he loves someone else... and the girl moves on too or just shows some contentment. That reminds me, I have no idea what happened to one of the characters in the movie... I really hate wondering.
Are relationships supposed to be easy? Is the work really worth it if you are the one who screwed up? Do guys really like girls who open up to them or do they prefer something easier? Hell, who doesn't prefer something easier but I mean, I always hear that you cannot make your boyfriend your best girl friend, and maybe there is a reason for that? With friends, is it good that you feel close to someone, despite them not feeling very close with you? How far does being used go when it comes to friends? Is it okay to a certain level because you are friends?
When is it okay to mourn over someone or be freaked out? When you knew who they were before the press told you or when you realized you might have talked to them at some point? Is it selfish or shallow when you do not think about anything like the Columbine or VA Tech shooting? Is it dramatic when you can't help but randomly think about it? Is it just a part of life, much like couples breaking up and losing what they had? That is a weird comparison but heartbreak occurs from pain, and I am just wondering if pain is necessary or normal in life... just different in how it is given... or is it fear that is more normal? Do you need pain to realize what really matters and to stay in line?
I really hate movies that make me wonder and go off on a WTF tangent. I think this is why I have not been posting, because I have avoided thinking for too long, but at this hour, I cannot help it. If I was just reading my usual princess diaries books, I would just giggle at stuff, but nothing more. It's the girly thing to do and it just comes natural... yet anything concerning real people makes me cautious. I think I am a closet introvert.
When is the last time you stayed up all night?
Can I say tonight? I guess before this night, I would have to say almost every weekend. I like staying up, especially on days when I can get my full amount of sleep and not have to worry about any sort of homework I have to do or place I have to be. Ironically I feel like I am a night person and a day person. I just have more energy during the night but at the same time, I don't really hate when I have to wake up early. I do not like when I lack sleep, so sometimes I have to give up being a night person to be a day person, but at the same time it just works up going to bed late and waking up early.
Not to mention, spring break finally started for me! It is only a week
but I am still glad I will get some time to catch up on just...
relaxing. I plan to read at least one book, haha.
